MICROBLADING

Microblading

Cape Town

Microblading:

This is a process of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing, which uses finely packed nano blades to implant pigment into the dermal layer of the skin, to mimic the appearance of hair to create hair-like strokes. This procedure is perfect for individuals who have sparse hair or gaps in between the brow. It is a natural looking effect to give the illusion of a fuller brow. Before the start of the procedure, an extensive brow mapping process will take place, whereby your ideal brow shape will be determined. The artist will not start the brow procedure until the client is fully satisfied with the shape of the brow outline. There are over 150 colours to choose from and colour is determined by natural hair colour of the brows and scalp.

FAQ’s

Is Microblading painful?

Medical grade numbing cream and techniques are used, to ensure that the process is painless for each client. Some clients may feel a slight uncomfortable feeling, but this can be a result of medication, menstrual cycle or illness. A secondary numbing is applied throughout the procedure to ensure it remains painless.

Will I experience downtime during the Microblading healing process?

There is no down time with Microblading. The brow area will feel tight and slightly raw, as the skin has been ‘scratched’ open. The first 3 days after the procedure, is when your brows will be the darkest. From then on, the brows might form small scabs that will naturally fall off. It is vital that you do NOT pick at the scabs, as this could pull the pigment out. Each few days you will experience different forms of the healing process. From about day 7-10, the brows will appear lighter. This is completely normal, so don’t panic. It takes a full 6 weeks for the brows to heal. Your Permanent Make-Up artist will supply you with a ointment that is to be applied during the healing process and a step-for-step guide on aftercare.

Will I need a Microblading touch-up?

A 6 week touch-up is recommended to ensure pigment heals crisp and visible. Healing period is 6 weeks, as each week a new layer of skin regenerated. Working on the area any time before the 6 week period could cause scarring and uneven hair-like stroke healing.

How long does Microblading last?

It lasts for 1-3 years, but to make it last indefinitely, a yearly colour refresher is recommended. The pigment will fade naturally over time, due to oiliness of the skin and facial products used.

Can microblading be removed?

Depending on type of pigment used, it can be removed at any time using a process called MRemoval. This is a procedure using a solution to break down the pigment. Another form of removal may need to be done with laser. Generally, 1-2 sessions are needed to ensure the pigment has dissolved entirely, before starting a brow procedure again.

OMBRE / POWDER BROW

Ombré / Powder brow

Cape Town

Ombré / Powder brow

This brow technique uses a tattoo machine with finely packed nano needles, to implant pigment into the dermal layer of the skin to create a full eyebrow. This form creates the illusion of a filled in brow, with a powder effect. When closely examined, you can see fine pixels that are brushed across the brow. This is perfect for individuals looking for a more structured, defined and bolder look. It is perfect for ALL skin type and colour is determined by natural brow and scalp hair. The ombré effect is done by creating less pixels at the bulb of the brow, gradually building up saturation towards the tail of the brow.

EYELINER

Eyeliner

Eyeliner:

The eyeliner can be done in various thicknesses, ranging from different styles and colours. There are various styles of eyeliner that can be created. A lash enhancer is done, whereby pigment is implanted between the lashes to create a darker and fuller eyelash appearance. A fine eyeliner can be created above the lash line, to give the appearance of a make-up liquid eyeliner. This style can have a wing or no wing. Then there is a style called stardust eyeliner, where a fine to medium thick line and wing is created, with added fine pixels that are brushed across the eyelid. This style gives a more designer eyeliner appearance.
